We all know that a kitchen renovation is an expensive and disruptive project to take on, but if you’re on a tight budget don’t discount the possibility of sprucing up this part of your home.
While you may not be able to replace all the cabinets and appliances, there are a few things you can do to make this room feel like new.
The Metro recently offered some suggestions of the top ways in which to do so, which included replacing your kitchen sink. According to handy man Dmitri Kara, you can replace your sink for just a few hundred pounds and this can make a big difference to the overall appearance of your kitchen.
Another top tip from the newspaper is to get your paint brushes out. There are specialist paints out there for everything from tiles to floors and everything in between. You can even invest in stone paint in the UK if you’ve got stone tiles or just an exposed section of wall.
Other aesthetic touches that can make a big difference, according to the design experts, include hanging planters for herbs and new kitchen lighting. Pendant lights in particular are popular over kitchen islands and can do a lot to change the appearance of a space.
Earlier this month, HouseBeautiful even suggested using wallpaper in your kitchen to give it a lift. From bold botanical prints to marble-effect wallpaper, there really is something for everyone, the website revealed.
You could even use vinyl wallpaper for your kitchen backsplash, instead of tiles, the news provider noted.
